Wildlife abounds here with Roe deer, Wild boar, badgers, red squirrel and a host of wild birds including Hoophoes,nuthatch woodcock, woodpeckers ,buzzards ,kite and peregrine falcons.

The park and gardens which extends to 5acres(2.1ha) are easily maintained and give directly onto the national forest on every side. They have been free of chemicals for the past 10 years and the park is mowed to encourage wild flowers of many varieties including orchids.

The lake at the other side of the forest is wonderful for hot summer afternoon bathing and has a beach , fishing and a small café.
