About the area:

The villa is situated just outside the hamlet of Massels. There are several villages and towns in the immediate surroundings (Frespech, Saint-Amans du Pech, Condom, Agen, Villeneuve-sur-Lot).

The Lot-et-Garonne is known as one of France's most beautiful areas. Amidst the stunningly diversified landscape one finds evidence of human inhabition dating back to the very dawn of civilization. The caves of Peche Merle (boasting some of the best-kept paleolithic paintings in the world) are at a 2 hour drive. Along the route you will pass by two of the most beautiful medieval towns of the country: Cahors and St. Cirq Lapopie.

Further places of interest are the ruins of the Cathar strongholds in the Pyrenees, the abundance of Romanesque churches, and of course the lovely city of Toulouse. But also nearby, in Frespech (3km), one may visit the Mus�e du Foie Gras, which offers delicious local cuisine and houses a permanent exhibition on the history of the Cathars.
