The Manche has a nice hilly countryside with small pastures surrounded by hays �the Bocage�. It is relatively close to England (the island of Jersey is close by). The Manche is close to the England and this shows in the properties. The properties are a mixture of Brittish and Normandic styles. The authentic houses in the Manche in hamlets or villages are built out of a dark flat stone (almost slate like) and have a slate roof like in Brittany. The barns have a timber frame with clay or mud in between, which seems like the properties in the Clavados, but the timber frame is not so apparent. Almost every part of the frame is covered in clay. Inside the barn there was enough room for an old stone cider press. If you are very lucky you can still find them. Properties in the Manche are more expensive close to sea, but further inland you can stumble upon a nice property bargain.
